7th-Jan-2011 02:26 pm - Long overdue...
becky
I knew this would happen. But now I'm back and I'll hopefully post something once in awhile, not once a year.. So what has happened since I last posted something? Well I've been in Russia (where someone stole my cellphone, got back to school just to discover that someone had broken in to my locker as well), I'm almost done getting my driver's license, I've been on a tvshow that's going to be shown in about a month and... that's about it.

But I'm most excited about what's going to happen in February! Hopefully I'll have my driver's license, remove my braces and travel to Italy. Can't wait!
6th-Aug-2010 01:10 am - is off to Germany
shopaholic
In five hours one of my friends will pick me up and then we'll get the other four and then OFF TO GERMANY! It's going to be so much fun, it's so surreal that we're even going. I'll be off for one week and I think it's going to be so worth it. :D

I'm not going to be a chicken, this time I have to try eating french fries with mayonnaise. Cya!
1st-Aug-2010 12:40 am - To travel is to live
shopaholic
In about two weeks I'll turn 18 and I'm really excited. On Friday I will drive with four of my friends to Hamburg, Germany and the reason to why we're going there is because we were there in January on a foreign exchange thingy. I've actually been on three exchange trips in 2010. One of them was to Hamburg and the other two were to Achern (also in Germany) and to Kiev/Poltava (the Ukraine). It wasn't easy, since I lost like 6 weeks of school time but it was really worth it. To get a chance to improve my language skills (it's one thing to do it in a classroom and a different thing to do it in another country), to get friends from other countries and to truely be independent.

Hopefully (if everything works out), I'll do some next year as well. I know that I'm going to Russia with my Russian class, to Berlin with my German class and to Rome with my ordinary class. But those are just normal trips, not an exchange program.

The reason to why I go on so many trips is because the school program I chose two years ago is social science, with a direction towards foreign languages. So next year I'll continue with Swedish, English, German and Russian (I could've chosen Latin, Greek or Hebrew as well but that would've been too much for me) and I hope that I'll be fluent in a couple of years. But it's tricky! Sometimes I confuse German with Swedish and Russian with Serbian (my parents are from former Yugoslavia), but in the end it's all worth it.

And why am i going to Rome? There are some language students in my class, as well as some students who study culture. So it's a tradition that the culture/language class travel to Italy during their third year. Not that I'm complaining, I've always wanted to go to Italy. I love to travel and I'm so exited about the trip that my danish friend Julie and I are going to take next summer, after I've graduated from school. I've been to almost every country in  Central Europe (and some other) but I've never been in Ireland, Scotland, England, the Netherlands, Belgium... Just one year to go!
26th-Jul-2010 09:01 pm - So I saw Inception...
shopaholic
... and it was really, really good. It was really hard to keep up with all of the information (maybe that's why no one went to the toilet), I think I need to see it again tobe able to understand most of it. The story was very complex (well duh, it's a Christopher Nolan movie), but there were some things that I thought was irritating. The music was always soooo loud, I get that it's a dramatic movie without it.

I've always loved Marion Cotillard (since I saw Taxi) and she was one of the best actors in this. Leonardo Dicaprio is a great actor and he was great in this as well (kinda like Shutter island) and Joseph Gordon-Levitt was as charming as anyone can be. My love Cillian Murphy made the best of what he had and the brit Tom Hardy was hilarious. I didn't like Ellen Page and Ken Watanabe though, she was just acting like she always does and his accent was annoying at times.

I'm so going to buy Inception when it comes out on DVD. :D
23rd-Jul-2010 07:45 pm - Excited for Inception
shopaholic

Tomorrow I'm going to see Inception and I'm so excited. I've been running from spoilers and discussions of the ending, since I want to be completely surprised. I love all of the actors, I mean what's not to love? Leonardo Dicaprio, Cillian Murphy, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Marion Cotillard, Ellen Page <3 They're all great and yes, I do think that Leonardo Dicaprio is a good actor! (except in The beach, yeash)

It's pretty amazing that it's top 3 in the top 250 movies on imdb.com. I think I'm going to rewatch some Cillian Murphy movies before I see it, just to get in the right mood. What can I say, I love the irish.
13th-Jul-2010 11:48 pm - Day 4-8 tv meme
shopaholic

Wow. I´m really lazy.

So I've been ditching the 30 day TV meme for about two weeks now and I'm feeling kinda bad about it. So I'm going to try to catch up again and hopefully, when I do a new  meme, it'll go better.

Day 04 - Your favorite show ever

LOST

I remember when I started watching LOST when it first started airing in Sweden in 2004 and all of my friends were watching it and we discussed every episode the day after it had aired. Then two years later my mother became obsessed with it (I don't think she understood that much, not having seen the first two seasons and all, she just wanted to stare at Jack), but then hardly anyone of my friends were watching it anymore. They said it had become too weird and complicated, but that's what I don't understand. I loved that it became so much more then it was in the beginning!

First it was just about some people trying to survive on a deserted island, then they realized that there were more people already living on the island and they started unraveling more and more secrets.

I will always love this show and I can't believe that it has ended. :(

Day 05 - A show you hate

Two and a half men

Charlie Sheen always plays the same role over and over again, and it's a role that he knows very well: he plays himself every single time. He ruined Spin city (remember when it had Michael J. Fox? a real actor?) and he certainly didn't help Two and a half men.

Day 06 - Favorite episode of your favorite TV show

The man behind the curtain

Ben Linus first appeared in the second season of Lost and since that episode where he first appeared and posed as Henry Gale he has been one of my favorite characters. So of course the episode where he is the centric character, has to be my favorite episode. The man behind the curtain is the episode where we get some of his past presented to us, which made him even more interesting then from the beginning. Some information made him even creepier (he gased his own father?), some interesting facts (what actually happened to the Dharma iniative) and some information that made him more sympathetic (the guilt after his mother's death).

Day 07 - Least favorite episode of your favorite TV show

Across the sea

This entire episode was a snooooooze... We'll get to find out more about Jacob and the man in black? Good. We'll get an entire episode about that? Not good. All of this information came much too late to actually be appreciated by me, it didn't really change that much. Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.....

Day 08 - A show everyone should watch

The Tudors

History. Sex (lots of it). Drama. What's not to like? For all of those who don't know a thing about this show, it's about Henry VIII and his six wives. Two of them he divorced, two of them were beheaded, one died and one survived. That it actually happened in real life makes it even better.

12th-Jul-2010 12:19 am - Soccer, football.. OCTOPUS!
shopaholic
That octopus is a freakin genius. Eight out of eight, how did you do it Paul?!

PS. I don't really care about football, Iwas just happy that the countries that were top 3 were European. Mhwahah.
6th-Jul-2010 11:57 pm - Crazy eyed
shopaholic

Some people are just ughh... When you work in a shop and you have to deal with people, you can get so mad. Is it really that hard to be polite and just not behave like a total dickhead? It just makes me want to give people the crazy eye! (portrayed by the lovely Isla Fisher here)

And why do people keep asking me if I'm selling fish, when i'm standing behind an icecream counter?!
5th-Jul-2010 10:34 pm - Shopping!
shopaholic

I'm a sucker for historical dramas and bbc dramas, so when I went to Linköping today I had to dome shopping. (I received my salary on Sunday so the timing was perfect. CHA CHING!) I bought some DVDs, a book (that I've already read in English, but now I have the Swedish translation), sunglasses and a dress. I shouldn't have bought more movies and shows, I have so many already that I need to watch. I haven't started watching the second season of Mad Men yet or started watching 24/Bones/several BBC dramas.

But that's what the summer is for, right? I'd rather sit inside an watch a movie then sit outside in the sun. I really hate it now when it's so freakin hot :( So when I came home I was in such a bad mood, because of the heat and all. I just wana sleeeeeep. But I have to stay up and bake two cakes for work, gah.

But I was lucky enough to find yellow sunglasses :D I've been looking for yellow ones for ages... I don't really like black/brown sunglasses, they're so dull. The sunglasses I have on are always colorfull and fun. Why be boring?
4th-Jul-2010 03:22 am - Sometimes I wish I was a dancer
lucy1

So it's past three am and I'm not sleepy. That's not something out of the ordinary for me since I always go to bed when others start to wake up. Now this isn't a problem itself, I mean I'm working now that it's summer so I can't sleep entire days away. I've always been used to not getting a lot of sleep, which is fine by me. I love being up when no one else is, it gives me a sense of freedom.

So what do I do when I can't sleep? I watch movies and read books! My two favorite things to do of course. I've just finished Marian Keyes´ latest (which wasn't that good) and rewatched some of my favorite movies of all-time. Billy Elliot.

Watching it (and other movies that involves dance) always makes me want to jump around and dance! Dance dance dance! Who doesn't want to try out the dance from Dirty Dancing (the one at the ending, not the one that is dirty :P I would die of humiliation if I had to do that one) and just give it a go?

I dream about being able to dance like Mike/Harry Shum Jr. and just go at it whenever I want to.
